Steve Dalachinsky

Porch Music

as a blare of tradition
the great glass floating & benched
the clouding sky of trumpeted play

the grassy playing field
reduced to birds
& balls pushed o'er the
flowery porch where more than
serene old children play

the stuff that brings the
hooping earth a long time
heard the picnickers &
blanketed there by drummer's tune
a heart of furniture never stayed
